Back in Hong Kong and what a contrast to New Zealand. There are 7 million people compared to 4 million in all of New Zealand which is hundreds of times bigger! There are people everywhere! We decided to take a ferry to go to Cheung Chau Island. It was complete chaos at the ferry terminal with hundreds of people pushing and shoving whilst we tried to figure out where and how to buy a ticket. These were priced at £1.50 each, a bargain when you consider Isle of Wight ferries.
It was pleasantly warm and with my shorts and T-shirt, I stood out from the locals who were fully wrapped up in warm clothes and mostly up to my chest in height. We had a good walk around the Island and then lunch in one of the street restaurants which serve fresh sea food. It was then time to brave the melee and get the ferry back to our hotel. It is Chinese New Year, the year of the horse so many restaurants are closed. The apple store was open and full of people just like the rest of the city.
