I managed to make it to Peking! Yay!
The flight to Peking was okay, but as you can imagine from the photos, the space where I was told to fit my body in (Air China refers to this as "a seat") was quite narrow so sleeping was not really an option. The funny smell that was emitted from the unwashed chinese teenager sitting next to me was not really increasing my level of comfort. At least the food was really good and the stewards filled us up with unhealthy sugar water as good as they could. To stop my nose from telling my body to run I watched "a good day to die hard", but sadly the audio quality was the badest I have ever experienced. You might now think it was a hell but not looking at everything too detailed it was ok! An surprisingly good and funny Jason Mraz and some deep house tracks on the headphones helped me through the night.
In Peking at the airport I teamed up with two Bavarians against the evil looking gang of the Chinese immigration authorities. We almost used the wrong exit which would have rendered my visa worthless.
Funny fact: there is the possibility to rate the service you got from the immigration authorities by pressing one out of five buttons that were placed out of sight of the staff. But guess what, nobody even deared to take a closer look at the buttons. I think everyone was just relived that he or she was left through in one piece!
Now I am waiting to get on the next flight to Hongkong at 18 o'clock. Then I have to find my friend josh on the airport and then we will see how the evening evolves. Right now no sign for jetlag.
Stay tuned ;) greetings to the far away land called Germany ;) (or Australia, or England, or America (which i am getting closer now again right? Strange.........))
