Sossusvlei ... Out in the desert .. V V hot , cold at night but nothing an open fire and whisky couldn't sort out ... Today big drive to Swakopmund ... Stopped at Walvis Bay for some lunch then heading up the coast . The drive over here went through some pretty barren landscapes ... The fridge in the back is paying for itself at the moment .

361 kms covered today , from Windhoek to Sesirem just outside the national park . Early start tomorrow to get into the dunes for sunrise ... It'll be a challenge to see how quickly we can drop the roof tent ... This is out first attempt . Fuel is a bit more expensive than I expected , but the beer is cheaper so I suppose it'll work out overall !

Day 1 - Windhoek to Sesriem , via Solitaire . It's a 200 plus miles trip , great way of getting used to the Landy . Had dinner at Joes beer house last night , Springbok , Ostrich and Kudu ! But all bloody lovely .. Got chatting to some SA blokes who are doing a shorter version of our trip .
