We had a great time in San Pedro. The town is very small, basic and seems just to exist for tourism sake. We could easily spot every type of traveller there, from the hippie doing nothing all day, every day to the retired couple travelling through in their fancy hire car. Out of the big city of Santiago lies two smaller, but popular coastal towns that we decided to visit, Valparaiso and Vina del Mar. Santiago, the capital of Chile, was a surprise to us as half the time we felt like we may as well have been walking around North Adelaide. The city was very large, developed, clean and organised which is completely different to what we have become used to.
