Picton April 11 -12
We arrived in Picton and after a few minutes realised there wasn't much to do unless you wanted to hike - which we didn't! So we spent some time just looking out to sea, eating lunch and reading on the grassed area of the quayside. This was followed by our first game of mini-golf since travelling, where I kicked Sean's ass by 15 shots. It should actually have been by more as there was a little bit of cheating going on! Our holiday park was along another windy coastal road which provided many picturesque views and nail-biting turns. On Tuesday we headed back into the centre of Picton to catch the ferry over to Wellington. As we drove on we were a bit worried about the stench that hit us, luckily this was only because there was several cattle trucks in front of us and we wouldn't be able to smell it onboard! The journey itself is known to be on the best ferry journeys world-wide. It takes you out of the South Island through the Marlborough Sounds which have a rugged spectacular coastline full of marine and bird life.
