Early start this morning. Taxi arrived at 4.30 to take us back to Guilin airport. Typically this was the first morning the builders across the road decided not to start work at 3am, as has been the case so far. Not sure if the early starts are to make the most of the cooler temp or because they want to get the building finished ASAP.
The road was surprisingly busy at that time and at one stage we hit a long queue of lorries waiting to get through the toll gate. Not to worry though, our driver just squeezed down the hard should for about a km, and we were through in no time.
Our flight was to Shenzen on the China / HK border, and from there we caught the coach back to Hong Kong Island.
...Just got back from seeing the light show over Hong Kong bay. Ferry arrived in Kowloon bay just in time. Went out for a nice meal afterwards although it was painfully spicy! (even though the waiter insisted that it had been toned down for us).
On our way to New Zealand tomorrow to continue the adventure on another continent!
