Great trip here through beautiful Vermont and a very different Derby! White Mountains fantastic - walked round Franconia Notch area yesterday, wonderful. Today off on Kancamagus Highway. Left Quebec this morning and are now at Magog. our last stop in Canada. Enjoyed Quebec, visited Parlaiment yesterday (shown in photo) and have walked miles. A hilly city with a lot of steps, so good exercise. Some very beautiful buidings and a very busy port for cruise ships. We were fortunate with the weather in Duchesnay and enjoyed the walking and cycling. The autumn colours were lovely and the auberge was quiet and peaceful. As we were close to Quebec we called off at Montmorency Falls on Monday morning and crossed to Ile D'Orleans, a small island in the St Lawrence. Every farm there is selling apples or cider. Left Montreal this morning and drove the Chemin du Roy, along the St Lawrence Seaway, almost to Quebec and then turned north for 30 minutes to Duchesnay. A ski resort which is making the most of the Autumn colours. We are in the Auberge but there are lodges, chalets etc. Writing this before we go to eat. The colours are unbelievable - becomes a problem of how many photos of trees you can justify taking. Had a brilliant day in Algonquin Park yesterday and saw moose, red squirrels and deer. Trails are easy to follow and the tranquility down by the many lakes is lovely. Spent Sunday locally and took a pedalo out on the lake and then drove to Dwight Beach and back for a stroll round Pensylvania Lake. People stop and talk and admire the colours with you.
