So it was time to head to Spain, something I was really looking forward to, unfortunately it didn't really live up to my expectation. Perhaps the number of Poms downgraded this great city. (just so happens England where playing Andorra the night we were there). Barcelona was full of one way streets, I swear ittook us 40 minutes to get to the hostel, that was in the end only about 5 blocks away. Anyway, after a massive room saga with some on those on tour, things were finally sorted and the tears wre wipped away (that's what happens when 18 y.o's travel the world without their parents). We went to Micky's, a spanish restuarant, funny thing was we were served by an Indian and Asian. neither of them had spanish accents either. Anyway the food was awesome (Traditional Paella). Everyone (not me or Scott) got stuck into Sangria (highly toxic alcoholic drink), with Red Wine, brandy, vodka and well anything you like really. That was our cue to leave for the night.
Day two in Barcelona was an interesting one. A sleep in was obviously called for, I think we made it up before 12. After the washing event if the year, we decided to venture into town, siestas certainally have there down fall, especially for tourists who are hungry. Any way we found food in the end and everyone was happy. Scott and I ventured to the Olympic Stadium and went to the olympic museum. We managed to catch a bit of French Open Semi Finals action on the big screen, gotta love air conditioning. (I reckon it was at least 35 outside). After stumbling our way back into town and after about 30 mins of thinking time we ended up having dinner at Tapa Tapa with some guys from the US. It was a great meal of traditional Spanish Tappas, boy do they know how to cook chicken!!! A big thumbs up for the food in Barcelona, pitty about the number of people there.
