Saturday 20th I flew into Austin,Texas to visit our great friends Brad and Amanda Nelsen with whom we share an American Contempory art collection which is displayed in Brad's office and home.There kids Carson,Austin and Haley are all now taking a strong interest in the art,Austin is involved in a not for profit exhibit space which we visit after dinner.Lots of kids having intellectual fun.
Sunday.Brad and I play golf at Silver Oaks a really interesting club with only 200 members.After,we visit Austin's new house,a 60's style bungalow,great value at $350000.
Next day we fly to Omaha,Nebraska to stay with Brad's brother Brian who runs a very successful liquor distribution business.
Nebraska is corn country,as far as the eye can see.It's flat,conservative and Republican.
Tuesday.We visit Brian's impressive distribution centre in Fremont 20kls from Omaha.We have an interest with Brian in a land subdivision nearby,he explains the politics and how difficult it is dealing with a very small in bred community but the family has lived in the area all their lives so he thinks he can be successful.
Next morning off to Rio de Janeiro.
