We travelled to Chivay in our own little coach,the driver was Huber a very nice man and our guide was Jesus,pronounced Hesus,he was a very interesting young man who was passionate about his people and his country.It took five hours to get there from Arequipa but we stopped on several occasions to eat,to drink coca tea as we were climbing higher and higher.We had lunch in Chivay then travelled a few miles further to our hotel,wow it was beautiful,it was built into...

We arrived in Arequipa,it was a beautiful day and the hotel was very nice,rooms were large and airy and the shower knocked you off your feet.It is a lovely city,the people are really friendly.We did a lot of sightseeing,more mummies so Alison was in her element again,this one was very interesting though,her name is Juanita,she is an Ice Mummy and is kept in a chilled glass case,you can see every detail,she was a sacrifice to the gods,earie. Had a lovely day out in the jet boat,all sorts of nationalities there,it was nice to talk to other people and hear of their trips. I´ve never seen so many birds,Pelicans flying over us all the time,we saw Sea Lions and Penguins too. We went for lunch in Paracas,the sun was hot,hot,but it was nice to be on land that didn´t tip you on your side or bounce over the top of waves!!! Or do summersaults on sand dunes!!!. Staying in a little hostel on the outskirts of Nazca,recovering from the journey,had a barbeque and generally getting to know each other.
