Hi y'all!!! Nicole here!
Were in Sydney now. Met Matt night before last and Jess is on the plane from Hong Kong as we speak. Were moving into town from Bondi and will meet her tonight.
Ayesh and I flew into Melbourne first. Wow!
Melbourne is like marmite - - coincidently also Melbourne is the capital of vegimite production.. people either love it or hate it. We loved it!!
Old churches and 19th century train stations and theatres stand with a back drop of sky scrapers. Theres plenty of theatres, comedy clubs, grand hotels, and more restaurants you can eat in in a year- the nicest in back street areas you could miss if you blinked. We ate in a gorgeous italian restaurant on a tiny parisian looking street, with big glass shop windows, near lovely antique shops, art shops and the token vespa parked outside.
Unfortunately Ayesha was feeling a bit ill, so she went back to the hostel and I had a bit of an explore - a bit of shopping, past the grand parliament building, past the trams and up to federation square where there was a open air concert going on for those who had travelled up to oz for world youth day. The extra token was the 90 year old 5ft man who had got into the mood so much he had thrown off his coat (and fake teeth) put on a pair of sunglasses under his flat cap and did a good impression of micheal jackson in Billy Jean. Hilarious.. but you probably had to be there.
Cat and mum - you two would especially love Melbourne! Youll have to go sometime!
We took a early morning coach to Sydney and met Matt in Bondi where we were staying at the Surfside hotel. The people there were awesome and immediately got drinking and pizza around the table and we went out to the bondi hotel. Very big hangover the next morning!!!!
Yesterday Matt and Ayesh took me out for a pre birthday night! We went to dinner at the harbour (with orgasmic cheesecake arrrghhhlllll and strawberry champagne cocktails) and went to see Don Giovanni the opera AT THE OPERA HOUSE!!!!!!! arrrrggghhhh! it was awesome! It was about some hoebag man who seduced loads of women and basically got his just desserts. mmm cheesecake.
Today we hired some roller blades and taught Ayesh to roller blade along the sea front at Bondi, then watched a live band by the beach. We'll meet Jess later on..
