Nicole: Hi all!
Sorry for lacking of blogs, not suprisingly there was barely any internet connection in fiji and when there was it took an hr to upload 4 photos!!
fiji is paradise on earth. We stayed at bounty island first where celebrity love island was filmed. generally spent most of the day chillin by the infinity pool (i was avoiding the sun a bit as was still burnt from venice beach in LA, where by the way I saw Sinead at the end of her trip. she changed race, she was so brown! we met on some obscure street corner that i chose from the map, and i wasnt expecting her to get my message but she did!!!)
There were loads of watersports to do in fiji, not that we did hardly anything cos on fiji time you basically laze around and eat the food they make for you (theres no shops on the islands, just their bar, their kitchen, your dorm and a beach). someone asked if there was an internet cafe and the chap mearly replied 'yes down there and a left by the macdonalds.' i think that was sarcasm.
The local greeting there is Bula, and everyone says Bula to everyone regardless whether they know them or not.
We've met some awesome people. In our dorm in Bounty we met Chloe, Lucy, Rachel, Matt and Pete who we chilled with. One night we were eating dinner with them and these two 'proper adults' Belle and her bloke (i keep calling him Steve but i think its wrong) decided to 'get in with the kids'. They were a great laugh, the only difference you could tell in age is the way Belle couldnt hold her alcohol hahahaha. She was doing the whole whispering REALLY LOUDLY thing and ended the night falling into the pool fully clothed! as for ayesh, she was absolutely pooped and fell asleep on the chair. she is now notoriously known for this and will get jip about it for weeks to come. ill try to upload a photo or 5...!
Anyway we're in Auckland now which is an amazing city. we're only touching the surface as will pick up our car soon and drive off to near Rotorua and then to Lake Taupo. We're trying to extend our stay here to 11 days so we can get to south island, which we hear by all is too good to miss. 'best place on earth' is one quote we've heard so many times.
will update with our activities in a week or so.
lots of love, nic xx
