Since the wedding, things have been quiet and we have just spent lazy days at home. Everyone has been asking to see the wedding party photos. On the night, I gave my camera to Ebis uncle and because the men and women were seperated at the party, I only have photos of the men. A professional photograher was at the wedding party and the Hanabandan party, but we need to wait until the photos are edited before we can see them. Hopefully, we will get them soon and I will post some on here.
Today, I thought I would talk a little about Persian food. It is, I guess, similar to Moroccon or Middle Eastern food, using lots of dried fruits like Apricots and Cranberrries. Its not at all spicy like Indian cuisine and instead is very fragrant, being flavoured with fresh hebs and rmore delicate spices, such as Cinnamon. Meat dishes tend to contain Chicken, Beef and Lamb, because of course Pork is unavailable. Sea food forms part of the diet in areas near the Caspian sea and Persian Gulf, as it is quick to transport the fish there. The majority of dishes are served with fluffy basmati rice. Ebis mum is a great cook and I feel like I am very slowly gaining weight ;).
I am not missing not being able to drink at all. A great range of different juices and non-alcoholic beers in different flavours are available to buy in the shops. So far, I've tried Coffee, Malt Toffee, Lemon and Red Grape. At the moment, Malt Toffee is at the top of the list :). There is also a traditional Iranian yohurt drink called Doogh. This is made by adding salt and mint to milk. I tried some in Cyprus and hated it but here, it is quite nice and not too salty.
You can read a bit more about Persian cuisine and its history here:

Tomorrow evening Ebi, me and his friend Khosro will be travelling Shiraz for a couple of days, then on to Esfahan. Hopefully, we will go and see the historical site of Persepolis too. I'm really looking forward to it and will hopefully have access to internet to post more photos and tell you about these places.
