Hi, sorry for the random message but I just had to say that your experience in Indonesia was spookily similar to ours last year and you really did capture the frustrations which we encountered on a daily basis. The main difference in our journeys was that we actually spent a day and night in the port town made up of one street to wait for the ferry over to Flores after a week of no sailing due to adverse weather. What was supposed to be a 4.5 hour boat journey turned into a 17 hour seemingly never ending hell ride. The next morning we attempted to get over to the close by island to see the komodos on a locally rented boat with some other travellers only to hav eto turn back mid journey when a storm set in and the boat very nearly capsized! The rest of my group made it over on their second attempt the next day but the previous 2 days experiences were enough for me and i refused to board another flimsy boat. Anyway, myself and my partner enjoyed your blog so thanks!
