Good evening everyone,
Hope everyone is well, first things first we have safely arrived in Bangkok! As soon as we arrived in New Delhi airport I had the most incredible caramel latte and Chris a wonderful Americano :) we had to wait 4 hours before our flight but it flew by and the flight itself was only 3 and half hours long so I slept the whole flight except for when a nice lady woke me up to feed me and Chris read his book.
Bangkok already looked impressive even from inside the airport but we had to queue for ages to get through passport control, everyone was huffing and puffing which got worse when a lady placed a 'trainee' sign in front of the desk. Just before Chris was to be seen they then just closed the kiosk ha ha ha I had already got through so went and got the bags and came back, by which time Chris still wasn't even being seen- you can imagine Chris' face. I would have taken a photo but I would rather not get shot especially after queuing for so long. To top that we couldn't find our transfer to the hotel so after looking for half an hour rung them and they said they never had us on their record; after a little complaining and a few naughty words exchanged between us we got a taxi.
First impressions, the hotel was beautiful. To check in we had to go to the 11th floor as all the other floors consist of shops :) Checked in but were irritated as we wanted the hotel to pay us back for the taxi but they said we needed to take it up with the website we booked with, Chris slightly tense at this moment mainly because we had been travelling for so long. We Went to our room which has a little kitchen, seating area, huge bed and en suite with free soaps and shampoo! We dropped our bags and went to the bar which overlooks the pool and Bangkok skyline; had a beer and chuckled to ourselves. Here's us slumming it dad :) it was 30c and very humid even at 7.30 at night so the beers went down a treat.
Woke up this morning 15 minutes before breakfast would stop being served so ran down and got there just in time. There was a great choice of scrumptious food but I was baffled at the sight of curry and rice being an option for breakfast, neither of us will need a curry any time soon. Then we went back to bed and had a midday nap, got up around 3pm popped down to the pool had a swim, a read, sat in the hot tub and a nibble. Chris is now laying on the bed watching the rugby and I've just finished washing the clothes. Tomorrow we will actually venture outside the hotel and see Bangkok. Our friend John from our India tour will be in Bangkok on the 13th so will be meeting him at the Hard Rock Cafe for a yummy meal yay.
Sorry to say Delhi belly is still here, but eating more in Bangkok so fingers crossed. Also sorry there haven't been more photos, the iPad won't let us upload onto the STA website so will try to get to an Internet cafe.
Love to all, Love Jess and Chris xxx
