Hello! We are pretty much running ourselves ragged in Paris, but are having a great time and seeing lots. We are happy that Spain won so we will be heading to Barcelona from here. Expect to arrive there Saturday.
I uploaded a few photos from our first day. Montparnasse Tower is in our district and has great views from the top of its 56 stories. It was a great introduction to the city. Yesterday we did the Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysee, gardens outside the Louvre, Invalides and the Army Museum with Napoleon's Tomb, then bought a picnic supper on Rue Cler, which we ate at the base of the Eiffel Tower. It was wonderful, but a lot of walking - 18.2 km yesterday! (We brought a pedometer to keep track). This morning we did Montmartre neighborhood and Sacre Couer. Beautiful. Now we are taking a break in our room before heading out to the old Paris, where we'll see Notre Dame and several other sites. I'm going to try to rest a bit too. Au revoir!
