Hi everyone we have finally returned from the jungle - it was hell! It started well by stopping off at a waterfall so we could all go swimming in it which was really beautiful. We then then drove halfway up a mountain and randomnly got out the car on the road to start the trek in the rain! It was meant to be an hour and a half of flat easy walking, really it was 3 hours of up and down hardest walking of my life. While we were staying in the hills we stayed at villages which were crazy there were random animals running around everywhere and we slept on the floor in a hut with cows living underneath it lol! The toilets were squat toilets which you had to flush with a bowl of water and the showers were bins of water in the same room as the toilet using the same bowl as you did to flush the loo!!!!
The second day was 4 hours of treking literally up mountains that didnt even have proper paths and in the afternoon elephant riding. The elephant me and sarah had was so naughty it kept trying to walk down vertical hills and when the man told it off it growled and went mad, i think its safe to say i wont ride a elephant again. On the final day we had to bambo raft down a massive river for 3 hours which was really fun, when we went through rapids it was up to my neck and lifted me off the raft completely. We are now back in Chaing Mai city in the comfort of a hotel and off on the sleeper train tonight headed for bangkok before we head down south for beaches and sunbathing!
