Phong Nha Farmstay Day 3 (05.07.2012): Oh do we have to leave today?
We were packed and ready for breakfast by 8am then we set out in a group from the stay to visit Phong Nha Caves. We cycled for 7-10km through the gorgeous countryside, narrowly missing several cows and water buffalo. What a ride!
We cycled to the river in Son Trach village where we caught a boat to Phong Nha (which means cave of teeth). The boat went all the way through the cave stopping a couple of times to let us explore some of the caverns. Another great experience and another amazing cave (though no match for Paradise Cave). After arriving back at Son Trach village which stopped for lunch and have just arrived back at the farmstay. We have a few hours to chill in the hammocks and make the most of the awesome scenery surrounding us. At 6:30pm we will be heading to Dong Hoi to catch our sleeper train the Hanoi. Unfortunately all the sleepers were sold out so we only have seats. Oh dear. I have a feeling we won't get much sleep though I keep telling myself on an aeroplane that's all you have.
We are supposed to get into Hanoi at 5am, not sure how we will occupy ourselves until we can check in our hotel. I am tired just thinking about it!
