OK firstly, an appologizy for the amunt of versions on singular blogs are being posted, it's not our fault this intrnet connection is dodgy and doesn't like to help, with suggestions that an action is actually being taken.
Anyway this will only be quick as this was a day of transit. The long journey between Phitsanulok and Chiang Mai was, as had been decided the night before, to be taken by first class coach rather than the more expensive train. The train was at 11.45, but due to uncertainty over the handwriting of the lady who sold us the ticket we got to the station early enough to cover us if it left at 11.05. The lateness of the bus gave us a bit of sleep in, but it depends what you class as a sleep in, for some thats early, luckily we're not really that way inclined, and a relaxed, packing of bags, and walk to the local bus stop ensued. We got the no.1 bus which had risen in price since the day before by 3 Baht, it's an outrage, I won't stand for it!! Although as I'm sure my sister is now thinking, of course I will because confl;ict, esspeically unneccasary doesn't seem to be my strong point, smoething there that Jade can't help me with either!! Anyhoo, the bus got us the bus terminal for around 11ish, we got ourselves some seats and took turns to go and buy supplies for the journey from the two small super markets on either side of the road. Neither I hasent to add had a loaf of bread, what kind of establishments are they running!!!
Jade went with the general big bag of potato chips (an agreeable americanism Ive taken on), water, cookies and tuna back!!! I too went with the potato chip and water, added fanta, aswell some pizza bread, a cake type thing and some frankfurters from a street vender, no I didn't eat it all at once!!
The bus took nearly exactly 5 hours, and nothing really exciting happened, I read my book, and culd inform you on the plot development, bu that would ruin it for Jade when I'm done and she takes over its reading duty. Jade also read, and i-poded it. When we got to Chiang Mai we got a taxi/bus/tuk tuk, basically its a pick up truck with rows of seats in the back and covers over the top, that is used as all of the previously mentioned forms of transport. TRhe hotel we asked it to take us too was the one that we are currently staying at. The sumit hotel, is nice enough with friendly staff, comfortable enugh rooms with out tvs, and due to our inability to part with 50 extra Baht no hot water, but who need heat in the water!! answer = both us us, but hey hey. We headed for the internet cafe and then on to ome bars to eat and drink after that. We found one really nice bar with a live band, free pool, and table footy and although slightly expensive we spent a great deal of time there, spending very little!! They attempted to drag the money out of us by using the old trick of giving out very salty pop corn, but thirst is something that must be tamed, when on a thin budget!!!
It was a very pleasant evenin all in all!!
OOOh it all happened today, but I want to mention it on yesterdays blog, I got my A in Sociology that I washoping for from my resit, so my evening is now a ery good one!! Pride is restored!!!
