Jade and Kelly Travel Round the Globe
Tasmania: Arrived in Hobart picked up our little Toyota Echo and drove over the scarest bridge in the world (or close at least) my screams of 'oh my god' probably didn't encourage Kelly of my controlled driving skills! Had a nice meal and few beers then went to the cinema to see ' look both ways' a Aussie film - strange but cool.
Early start (6am) drove up the East coast to wineglass bay, did a three hr trek to the beach which was really fun (thought of mum and bev as they would have loved it) great views and a gorgeous white sand beach at the end! (The one in the postcard in fact). Continued drive to St Helens - quite possible the worst place we have ever been to, a ghost town with scary locals and nothing to do, one 'are you local' bar and a resturant that served something I think was meant to resemble food. Plan was to stay there but got in car to find hostel and decided to continue to next big city - two hrs later and nowhere close to anywhere that even looks close to a town or a row of houses I realise we have no petrol! Clever girls! in our deseperation to leave st Helens we had forgot to fill up, now in forest with very windy roads, scary fog and the occsional strange looking animal. Kelly and her irrational fear of zombies cannot even talk through fear. Our map tells us there is only 15 km to nearest town - all good. Except this town consists of one closed bar and three houses all dark (it is only ten o'clock by the way!) Knock on pub and they give us number of nearest fuel station ran by an old man who was in bed but said he'd get up for us. Another scary 10 mins in car arrrived at two fuel pumps in the middle of no where - I went accross road to mans house past a 4 ft snake! Bless very sweet man - fuel!!! Next big town Lanceston - arrived at 12.30! Sleepy!
Next day went for walk along gorge got lost and Jade fell down. Went to picture and then out drinking - fun night playing pool and meeting new faces.
