Saturday 17th saw us head off to Somerset West to stay with friends of Jacqui's family. Graham and Debbie. Graham is one of the son's of a very good friend of Jacqui's Mum and Dad Paul Owen. We drove down Scenic Route 62 which gave us some stunning scenery. Well worth a drive. Along the way we stopped off at a restuarant for lunch called the Old Gaol. The building used to be a jail. It was very different. We had a lovely dinner at Graham and Debbie's which was just what was needed after the drive.
We had an early start on Sunday 18th 5.30am as Graham and his father in law Pete were taking us fishing. We headed off to Gordon's Bay to launch the boat. It was a tad windy to say the least. Jacqui and her Dad got soaked on the outward journey. We decided not to go too far as the sea was pretty bad so the boys set off to fishing. Neen caught a small yellow tail - he was the first to catch The sun had now come up so Jacqui and her Dad dried out quite quickly. By 8.30am the sea had calmed a bit so we decided to make a run for it across the bay to where we can crayfish. It was a bit wet again for Jacqui and her Dad. The crayfishing was amazing - they drop nets with bait in down to the bottom of the sea and then leave it and go back and pull it up to see what you got. We caught enough for the dinner that night. We arrive back into Grodon's bay at about 1pm after a lovely morning on the boat. Its great eating what you caught later on in the day mmmmm.
The 19th saw a nice lazy day headed off the the Somerset Mall for a look around and then had a plunge in the pool. That night Graham cooked a fantastic Buttered Chicken which was so tasty. We had a great few days with the Owen's.
