Today I woke up feeling refreshed! We had cereal for breakfast and found out that today would be 40 degrees so we were dreading it (well I was really dreading it! I don't do heat well!)
We decided to have lunch at the apartment before heading out to see Bratislava castle.
As soon we finished our lunch, we walked to Bratislava castle and it was really hot! I was dripping with sweat and it was noticeable whereas Jacob looked really dry! He said he was sweating too.
Castle wasn't that pretty, looked rather modern and we bought tickets for 2.50 euros each. We went downstairs to an exhibition with old things and it was so cool that we wanted to stay there for the whole day!
The castle had beautiful walls, steps and gold paint...they had a red roll out carpet too!
I was glad as they had an art gallery, portraits of people and I enjoyed it. Don't think Jacob would say the same!
The castle was huge and we were there for a while. We went up the tower of the castle, it was boiling hot and I took some photographs of the view. As we climbed down the stairs, Jacob looked around looking worried and said 'cramp!' and holding his thigh at the same time. I couldn't stop laughing, the way he said it was rather funny and there were lots of steps in the castle and outside!
We both then realised the castle was caught in a wildfire in 2012 so that's why the castle looked modern as it was reconstructed.
As we finished looking around the castle museum, we went outside and the heat was unbelievable! At that moment I wished for a swimming pool.
We went to a cafe nearby and had fresh handmade lemonade drink. The waiter was quite nice and offered to take photograph of us.
There wasn't much to do in Bratislava so we decided to go to supermarket to get food for tonight and chill out at the apartment.
I cooked dinner, made pasta for tomorrow lunch and it was really hot while cooking as there was no ventilator! I was glad when it was over so I could cool down.
We are getting a train to Vienna tomorrow so I've started to pack everything in (I have a habit of taking everything out once I arrive at a destination!) Hoping to have a bit of lie in tomorrow so don't need to get up early to pack.
