Granada is supposedly one of the best colonial cities in Central America, situated on the shore of Lago de Nicaragua. However, for various reasons I failed to experience this aspect of Granada. My first day here was spent organising various things that had been neglected for too long, for example, getting a haircut. I was a bit nervous when the barber decided to turn the chair away from the mirror so I was unable to see the progress but eventually it turned out almost acceptable. Far better at least than the half-mullet thing I was given in Colombia.
The reason I failed to experience Granada the second day is a far less positive one. After meeting my Dutch friend the night before, him being in a exuberant mood after Holland`s football victory, we celebrated, perhaps a bit too much, and woke up with a debilitating hangover. The type when you can`t get out of bed until the early evening. It`s only the second time this trip it has happened so it would be wrong to be too discouraged by this anomaly.
