It´s an unusual feeling entering Antigua for the first time. It´s certainly different from other Central American towns, though apart from being more touristy, there´s a far bigger difference: there are no stray dogs. On this trip we´ve seen some of the most hideous examples of what people choose to keep as pets. Scrawny, flea-infested vermin, some with udders dragging along the floor behind them, are strangly not to be seen in Antigua, though in a town with many active volcanoes nearby, it wouldn´t be hard to make these savage beasts disappear.
As the picures show, we climbed one of these volcanoes and concieved various photo opportunities with the lava. We spent more money onthe sunglasses and cigars as we did getting to the volcano, though as you can see, it was definitely worth it.
