The Gnomes are Locked in the Cellar
The Cascade River offers a relatively easy hike with absolutely, spectacular views of this raging river. Although there are several trails, I would suggest walking up the left side of the river, and instead of crossing it, as the park people will tell you, simply turn around and walk back the way you came. The left side provides far better views. There was one spot where we looked down at the water from a bridge and the river appeared to look as though it was showing us a view of North and South America from outer space - of course water levels dictate these types of things. You could do this nice little hike in an hour, but slow down and take two hours. You'll thank yourself when you've finished. Take bug spray.
