Cape Town was 450km away an we needed to be there before 1400, so we left before 0800. The drive was stunning with scenic views and large natural crevices that the road meandered through. An early start we managed to cram a lot of activities in our single day in Oudtshorn. Oudtshorn is in fact like a dessert and is surrounded by huge mountain ranges therefore whilst leaving them lush and green, Oudtshorn is dry and barren. Today was due to hit 47degrees centigrade. Mike, Heidi and I went horse riding in the morning. Was great fun and, I managed to beat mike in an all out gallop across the beach. Nice relaxing last day with everyone together at the beach and exploring the dunes. The day we had to leave was a sad one. In order to get to the airport we all crammed into the car, luggage and all. This is a new development from Kwantu game reserve, and will soon be a very posh enterprise.
