Day 32 3/11/09
My day in Cochabamba was pretty lack luster. I slept in most of the morning as I still felt unwell. Then Chris and I went to Pacquis a great restaurant in the nice part of town which was very similar to a nice American suburb. The food was fresh which helped balance my stomach.
After lunch we visited Cochabamba’s answer to Rio, another white Christ on the highest hill. To get there Chris and I had to take a cable car to the top. The views there were stunning. Cochabamba was far large than expected, the main body of the city curved completely around the hill on which we were standing. It also was home to a large ecological reserve focused around an enormous lake high in the mountains. After this I again was beginning to feel quite ill so I went back to sleep it off.
When I awoke everyone had collected downstairs and were having drinks for Martin's birthday. Whilst we were sitting we were joined by an 89 year old Luxembourgian who apparently spoke 26 languages and was involved in Bolivia's hydrogen fuel development. Not too sure about him.
Martin's birthday meal was marred for me by my stomach so I went home straight after rather than for drinks.
