Day 2 in Athens
Today we started out by having breakfast at our hotel. We chose the buffet and it was great. Breads, savory and sweet pies (spinach, apple), cakes, homemade jams and honey, cereals, fresh fruit salad, dried fruits and walnuts, cheeses, deli meats, scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurts, and roasted tomatoes. Everything was really tasty. I went back for seconds of the tomatoes which were roasted with oregano and olive oil.
After breakfast, we met up with Toby and Dave in the Syntagma neighborhood. There we caught one of the City Sightseeing double decker tour buses to see the main sites. We traveled the full route first, taking tons of photos along the way. We stayed on after doing a roundtrip and decided to get off at the Acropolis stop first. There was so much to see here - just ruin after ruin and piece of history after piece of history.
