We set off in the pouring rain this morning and it's been raining on and off almost all day. We had a great ride through the mountains though, great scenery again: lakes, waterfalls, mountains, valleys rivers, wonderfull route, quite lucky to have found it. Crossed the border (at least I think it was the border) around half 1, and got to the hotel around half 2. Short day afterall. Off to bed ealy tonight, I am a bit tired I think today. Lazy day today... We went out for a walk around the town for a while, and I was right, this place is great in the sun. we stopped for a wonderfull strawberry cake around 11, then headed back to the hotel. Doug did some emails and i did some swiming and lazed about by the pool most ofthe day. Haven't been feeling very well since yesterday, and Doug was contemplating me flying home. I think I just need some rest, I'm not giving up now, it's only 3 days left anyway....

Bad Ischl today, which is the Lake District equivalent for Austria. And while it shares the Lake District's beauty, it also shares its weather-therefore we arrived here around half 4 in the rain, and it was still pouring it down when I went to bed. To be fair, I shouldn't complain, we had great weater so far and I guess a bit of rain didn't do anyone any harm. Today is my birthday. And how better to celebrate it than in the land of cakes and chocolates? We had a wonderful breakfast at the hotel, and after that went for a wonder in search of some good cake shops around the town center. Not hard to do, considering every single coffee shop arpund here has amazing cakes, teas, coffees an chocolates - food too. Wien today - pretty quick run, part of it on the motorway, part of it austrian country side. I like Austria: you can notice the shift immediately: the roads, the houses, the culture all together... I thought I would be very unconfortable- not being able to understand the language and get something to eat.
