Arrived in pitch black so didnt have any idea of what actually awaited, (see the picture ive put with this blog as mine dont show the true colour). there is some kind of sediment in the lakes that refracts the suns light giving it a bright blue colour. its stunning, the whole country is. we've been constantly stopping roudn every corner. as breathtaking as they say! the snows just about coming so the mountains are all snow capped flowing down into greenery adn then dropping straight into blue waters, its incredible. nothing really to do around here unless you fancy walking but the driving is amazing and just looking is enough really.

we took the road up to mount cook but you couldtn see it because of the clouds so we are hoping to see it properly when we go back up teh west coast towards franz josef glacier.

its so remote but there must be some people in amongst the hills as we kept seeing signs for the school bus, very unsure as to where it was heading.

hit the road and headed south for the adrenaline capital, queenstown.
