met two girls on teh bus down to byron bay who are in NZ at the same time as me and need a thrid person for the camper van hire so i might be doing that when i get there.

anyway, got to byron and met some people in teh dorm so just invited myself along for tea with them and had a few drinks, and booked to go to nimbins the next day.

went with jims alternative tours, defo alternative. Nimbins is this wierd little time warped stoner town. its a like a blast from teh past and everyone there are hippies and competely stoned, the service is a bit slow but on the happy side!

anyway, so you all pile on jims bus, he plays an ecclectic mix of 70's acid and stoner music, tells you a few funny storiers about overly paranoid girls burying their cookies and then drops you off in nimbins to buy your own cookies, see the hemp museum and chat to the erm...interesting(?) locals. one girl was selling the cookies, moved there when she was 17 with her baby and partner at the time, told me shed got bust before by the police and then wouldnt tell me her name for her own protection!? what goods that going to do, you work in the hemp museum selling cookies, you could have told me you're called sheila and i wouldnt be any wiser, paranoid fool! anyway, so everyone gets back to the bus a few hours later a littel more giggly, and then the real tour begins, jim plays a carefully selcted set of tracks which i can inly imagine was to induce certain atmospheres as he went on to tell us we are now on teh rollercoaster section of the raod, not everyday you see a bus full of people throw their hands in the air and scream when you go over a hill in the road.

he then takes you to his friend paul who had grown this garden over 30 years apparantly from an empty paddock, i think this was a story to try and make it magical as i couldnt help but notice the giant trees blatantly a lot older than that, anyway, it was all pretty wuant with a lake and a summer house to sit and chill in with music and nuts to crack and then they took us on a jungle walk to find the fruits on the trees to eat, haha! back to the bus and one last munch stop before we go home. its pretty hard to describe, same as people told me, you cant put it into workd, you just have to go, its all a bit surreal!

moving onto sydney tomorrow aft, need to have a surf lesson as i still havent done it yet but its really cold now, moved a bit far south but if i dont do it here ill have to do it in sydney which will be even colder, grr! i need to buy some shoes as its getting a bit cold for even me to wear flipflops!
