Today we took the train to Florence! We went to the Cupola del Brunelieschi, which is a huge dome on top of the main church. We had to climb 463 steps (!!!) but it was worth it becaue from the top of the tower you could see basically the whole city! We also went to some markets and over the Ponte Vecchio bridge, and Mum bought a leather jacket. It was a fun day but after around 7 straight hours of walking we were all pretty tired!

Today we arrived at the farmhouse in Arezzo where we are staying. It is really pretty, and the couple who own it are really nice - they also lived on Waiheke for 8 years which is pretty cool! We went into the old part of Arezzo, which is behind a big city wall. It was really pretty, and we went into an archaelogy museum which was really interesting - some of the things they had were thousands of years old! Today we left the Castle and drove down to the farmhouse we are staying in, in Tuscany! On the way we stopped at Pisa to see the Leaning Tower, and walk up it! It was really cool - although there were so many people trying to sell you stuff around it!

Today we went to the Cinque Terre, which means the Five Lands. It is made up of five cities along the coastline which are part of the Cinque Terre National Park. Normally, you walk between the cities, but the roads were closed because of flooding so we had to take the train and the ferry. They were all really pretty, and it was really fun! It was also a beautiful day - it was the first time we wore shorts so far!

Today we went to the Carrara Marble Quarry, which was really cool. We went on a tour in a jeep which fit 9 people, and went up between the quarries, on the same road as all the trucks. Our tour guide told us all about the quarries and how the marble was cut. It was pretty interesting, but going in the jeep was a bit freaky because we had to go in between all the huge trucks, and up and down really steep roads.
