Here we are, finally in Bangkok, and I can't wait to leave, this place is crazy!!! I ve never said - no thank you - so many times!!! The first day obviously we didn't do much, went to the hotel, checked in and straight to bed...in the evening we went to a nice restaurant (we actually were brought to it...), the staff were so nice and polite. After dinner Brian suggested to take a tuk tuk and head to khaosan road just for the craic...some craic all right, roller coaster it's nothing compared to it!!! Anyway we got there safe and we walk down this street, loads of bars, shops, fish massages and ping pong shows... We still haven't seen the latter, we'll keep it for when we get back to Bangkok.
The second day was all about the turisty stuff...Got up at 4:30 IN THE MORNING, without any intention to do so, and decided to get a long tail boat and travel up the river to the temples... my 3 days trip downloaded from internet said it was really worth it doing at dawn...well well got a taxi who brought us to this place forgotten by God and called a lady with her two seats boat. Brian tried to bargain with scarces results, so we left and got a tuk tuk who gave us a tour of the city when all we wanted was a ATM and when we asked him about the boat, first he brought us to some place where supposely there were long tail boats but what are the chances... it was close, so we ended up to the very first place, and also paying double the money!!!! By then it was already 8 o'clock...but sure. So we finally got to see all the temple, people obviously try to scam us a little bit more than what othres already did, but we got finally at the hotel around 14:00 with some money still in the pockets!!! The temples were absolutely fantastic, the kind of place you think Alladin comes from, covered in Gold, weird monkey faced statues looking and smiling at you, but not to worry, they are good spirits. The emerald Buddha is actually very small but here the funny thing, the staff change its clothes depending on the season (obviously golden clothes, not barbie's..). And the other impressive thing... the reclining Buddha, it's huge!!!! I'm as big as it's toe!!!
To coclude the evening happily we decided to go in this busy street close to the hotel and picked a bar, guess what, it was a gay bar, and Brian was wondering before we found out - What if I sat here on my own, you think a girl would come up and try to pull me? - mmmm a girl maybe not, but definately someone!
And finally yesterday we went on a tour. First stop the floating market, which I enjoyed except for the guy that was rowing the boat, I would have thrown him in the canal, he never shut up, look look there look cheap!!! SHUT UP FOR A SEC!!! But the floating market was cool, very turistic, we even got stuck at some point, traffic jam. Then we went to see a cobra show, all right nothing special, Brian seemed to have enjoyed it a lot. After a short stop to the bridge on the river Kwai we finished the tour at the tiger temple where we could take pictures with the tiger, pat them and se the monks feeding them, so cool they were and we got very good photos too.
When we got to the hotel; we went straight to bed, not even dinner...next stop Chiang mai!!!
