We finally arrived in Laos after 2 days of slow boat, it was very tiring but not too bad after all. We met a new group of friends, Wim, Katy, Hannie, Kyle Cierann and Mike.I really like this town, and the people seem really nice. We only spent here 2 full days, the first one bicycling around, visiting temples, there was one especially beautiful on the top of a hill covered in gold. W also sat along the river and have a watermelon shake for me and one fruit shake with ice cream for Brian...Lovely!! In the evening we met with the guys and after eating in the street market we went to a couple of pubs to chill out a little bit, some too much. The next day we got up at 5 am to see the buddist monks walking around town and collect food from people. Hannie and I went to buy some chocolate, unfortunately not enough for everyone. After that a quick Laos breakfast and started bargaing for a tuk tuk to go to the caves, which are on the mountain along the river. Inside they are full of Buddha statues, some in gold, some wood, some just broken. It could have been skipped, really not interesting. After resting a couple of hours we headed to the Waterfalls. First we visited a black bear rescue centre, the bears were so cute, unfortunately still so many to be rescued from the bile traffic... And then we wlked up to see the waterfall, it was soo beautiful, the water so clear. At the top you could only take pictures, but coming down you could also swim and I really enjoyed it!!! In the evening ate in the market again and then went to spend some money in the real night market. Absolutely the best I ve seen so far, really big and they sold everything, from tea to t shirts and it was soo cheap!!! I could have bought everything if my bag wasn t so small...
And it s already time to get on the minivan...destination Vang Vieng
