John B Keans pub is a treat. It is now run by Johns son Billie Keane. Billie has a head full of story’s committed to memory. More importantly, an entertaining way of telling those same stories. He doesn’t allow videos to be taken in the pub. It is a writers paradise. Throughout the evening you will experience; traditional Irish music, story telling, singer/song writers performing, people reciting poems, and Billies hilarious stories.

Today I spent most of the day updating the ancestry project with the help of cousin Tom Meehan (2nd of Ten) who lives in Abbeyfeale. The project is so close to being finished. Listowel is located in the northern part of County Kerry. It is a half hours drive from the West coast of Ireland. This is where the famous Ballybunion Golf course is located. Listowel has a population of about 10,000 and is classified as a Heritage town. Listowel is known for its writers festival and spoken of as the Literary Capital of Ireland.
