The shadows are getting longer. I can't put off the inevitable. We are back on State Route 85 and will soon be home. Time to start planning the next one!

Our overnight stop was 100km up the road from Cunnamulla, in a tiny town called Wyandra. The road started as quite treeless. We arrived in Cunnamulla in the morning, and after a small walk around the turn we went to the "Cunnamulla Fella" centre, where we rode the Artesian Time Tunnel and checked out the museum. The brolgas flew away early in the morning, so we missed out on clearer pictures. We packed up the camp and left Bollon for Cunnamulla. We were heading west along the Balonne Highway. We arrived in Bollon before 4pm. Brett had some work to do to fix some leaking pipes in the van (Brett had replaced some old fixtures before we left and the fittings themselves are not as watertight as they should be). Sue and I had a walk into and around the town. On our way back we saw brolgas, which was pretty exciting. The light was not good enough for a clear photo, so we are going to have another look in the morning to see if they are still there.
