Hey hey!

In Thailand, chilling on Koh Phangan, having just recovered from a 32 hour mission from Eastern Malaysia through the dodgy border crossing that all guidebooks advise against! But yet i rocked through the infamous Hat Yai and survived, probably because i was on a vaguely fast 10 hour train with machine gun toting guards! They got off once we'd passed through the conflicted Southern states, but it was a bit disconcerting to wake up to some guy in camoflauge with a machine gun about the same size as him strapped to his side! Hey a bit of danger always makes travelling more fun!

So alive and well - staying for the full moon party 100 metres off the famous sunset beach in haad rin. Last night was a 'quiet' one for haad rin - the music switched off from the beach rave at 6am and we crawled in at 3ish, the first ones in bed in the hostel! Hey, you have to pace it if you are going to make it to the warm up party - tonight, the full moon - tomorrow (6pm-6am), the after party - which happens to be at our hostel (6am-12 noon) and the after, after party (12 noon - 9pm)....not sure if i'll make the last stint! Probably full of druggies by that point anyway!!

Cool atmosphere over here - everyone is in the party mode, tonnes of day glow body paint - am contemplating a large dragon down my leg, and lots of neon 80s gear! Decade i was born for! Lots of music, drinking, dancing and fire performers on the beach throughout the night - skipping ropes made of fire, illegal red bull with amphetimines, mushroom shakes which the thai government turn a blind eye to apparently, and, of course, the infamous buckets! Smaller than i thought, but sampled a few last night and super potent!

Not the place to catch up on your rest though - am holding out till the weekend and passing out on the beaches during the day! Epic times though - there is just something about raving on the beach with people from all over the world that has to be done at least once in life!
