Hey hey!
Signing in from malaysia! Just left KL after 3 days of sight-seeing and partying hard! i think my total hours of sleep have only added up to 12 so i'm probably still jet lagged!
KL was great fun - stayed in the original backpackers inn, which was great value for money - literally about 2 pounds a night, clean and lots of cool people. Quite a transient place, with people coming and going all the time, but met some great irish girls! We hit the party scene and met a group of 6 guys whom we ended hanging out with :)
Didn't realise it was the end of ramadam here, so there has been a public holiday in malaysia for the last 2 days, which has meant tonnes of street food and partying in the chinatown district!
Went to see the petronas towers, which are pretty awesome - the highest buildings in the world pre-2003! Also, have been to the batu caves, which are a hindu shrine set into caves in the mountainside just outside of KL.
Took some time out at the lake gardens in KL, which was much required! Am now in the Cameron Highlands, having just arrived today to do some trekking in the tea plantations and chill out from the hecticness of the asian cities!
Definitely experienced some culture shock in the first few days - much more so than south america, but that is to be expected and i think i am getting a grip on things now!
A friend from south america whom i met travelling is now in south korea and has just got in touch to say she may come out and meet me in 2 weeks, when i am in thailand, which would be seriously cool! So fingers crossed she gets the go ahead!
Right, i'm off to actually crack open my first book! Have not had the time so far!
Ciao ciao xxx
