The first look of the massive monoliths at Zion National Park, Utah mermerizes and humbles any human soul almost instantaneously. It's one of the crowdiest American national parks in the recent times, and it's not hard to understand why. The Zion along with Bryce Canyons, Arches and Canyonlands encompasses a the famed chain of beautiful landscapes in Utah.

Located in the southern part of Utah, it's just over couple of hours drive from the city of Las Vegas. The city of Springdale starts right outside the park south entrance and is an amazing place for dinners in the backdrop of the zion canyons. This city can also be the haven for those who could not manage to get a campsite or accomodation inside the park.

Tip: The south campground inside the patk allows walk-ins but typically gets booked when it opens up online reservations 14days prior to date of accomodation.

Hikes, as in other place, range from short easy ones to more challanging ones. We made an early headstart onto the famed Angels Landing hike, (termed as strenous) the trick seemed to beat the heat/crowd by getting on the first shuttle from visitor centre or to have someone drop you at the trailhead. It's a not-to-be-missed for anyone who likes to hike atop for the beautiful views that nature has to offer. If you're here in the summer, make sure to carry lots of water to save yourself from de-hydration. Thanks to the low water level in the virgin river, we managed to hike the zion narrows for a couple of miles. It was also very gorgeous and respiteful from the scorching heat. If you plan well (or if you get lucky at the visitor center), you can secure permits for the Zion subway. The subway and the narrows have different routes (top-down/bottom-up) that caters to the technical as well as casual hikers. So plan accordingly!
