Free day in Hanoi today. Had to change rooms but then Alan spent the morning doing Please Yourself Travel flight bookings so a bit boring

At about 12 we headed out to the Old Quarter to walk around - great experience and this city is a total immersion experience and you just have to embrace it and go with flow to appreciate it

Lunch at another JoMo Bakery which has been a saviour when we have needed a break from Asian food

More street walking then back to the hotel

Have grown to love this city after the shock immersion in it on the first night

Group meeting with new tour leader Lemon Juice Bruce an Aussie who has been leading Intrepid Tours in Vietnam for 17 years

A very passionate man about Vietnam with amazing cultural and historical knowledge to share but s*** he can talk - intro meeting 1.5 hours!!!!!!

Then with LJB to a tiny little traditional Vietnamese restaurant. LJB ordered for us - tried snail tortilla and stir fried frog - bit of a non event really

Tomorrow off to Halong Bay for overnight on a boat on the bay
