Well. What can I say.
Today has been hectic. And we aren't even officially there yet.
I think the title for today is.....
A comedy of errors. Or. I don't want to jinks us... BUT...
It all started late last night, poring over a few beers we all talked about our plans and for the weeks to come.
Mick, mentioned what he thought was a joke, that all he wanted was for something to go wrong.
Well, Mick this post is for you.
4:30 am in the Gold Coast, our alarm sounds. Set for 5:30, but Avril's iPhone decided we were really in NSW so it goes off according to daylight savings time.
No biggie, we will be fine.
Jump in the car and driving by 6:00. Cars returned and checked in by 7:00. So far so good. Time for breakfast.
7:30, we hear that the weather may cause a delay. All good, we have 5hours to kill in KL. 7:45. We have the official announcement. Your flight has been diverted to Brisbane.
And it begins.
With the finesse of herding cats we are all piled into busses and shipped to Brisbane.
Luckily our bus driver was from NSW and clearly had no hesitation breaking QLD road rules, evident, because we were first in line at Brisbane by 10:00am.
All we and the 300 other people had to do was wait for Air Asia' employees to get there. (Apparently there was an accident) I still maintain that it defiantly wasn't our bus driver, but with that many lane changes who would really know???
Anyway, 1:00 pm we are lining up to start the adventure. But wait, there is another hold up. 45 minutes later. We are flying.
By this time we are doing the numbers. If we were ment to be away at 9:00 am. But left at 2:pm. And had a 5 hour 25min layover in KL. Than that gives us precisely 25 minutes to catch our next flight.
Hmmmm.
Well we land at KL. And run to the transit area. There was 150 people all lined up. :( oh no. We had only 10 minutes to get there. Thanks to Jason's height he just clears a line through people and removes a barrier and we keep running to our gate. Number 19. All the way at the end.
2 lots of security done and simon runs. (I don't think he knew what he would do when he got there. But he was off)
We arrive just in time to be told we couldn't board and simon was walking back to the group.
But then, with luck the Air Asia flight crew lets us on the plane. And that is where this post is coming from. At this time Everyone is sound asleep, well earned I think.
All I hope is the luggage made the flight. Can't be sure.
The best part of today is this, even though Mick tried, today went all our way.
Here's to a grand adventure.
