We decided to get a flight out of Seoul to Jeju which is a small Island off the south tip of the peninsula which is very popular with honeymooners. As soon as we landed we felt relaxed as we were out of grey miserable Seoul!

We stayed on the south coast in a place called Seogwipo, we had a lovely little guest house called Little France which was complete luxury compared to the hole we stayed in Seoul. Seogwipo had a lovely harbour with a minature Spinaker tower on - we were really amused when we saw it - its as if someone had gone to Gunwharf Quays and thought mmm thats a good idea! The weather was slightly warmer in Jeju so we actually were able to go out without our coats on. There were lots of walks you could do on the coastline so we took a picnic and just enjoyed the sunshine and the pretty scenery. On the East coast of the island there is an old volcano crater that juts out into the sea which you can walk to the top, we huffed and puffed our way up their and it was pretty impressive view from the top - they call it sunrise peak and lots of people go up there every morning to watch the sunrise. There are a few waterfalls round Seogwipo so we went and had a look and they were very nice too - lots of honeymoon couples were posing in front of them, for some reason lots of Korean honeymooners wear matching clothes which we thought was quite funny.

Harris, the guy we met at Yoido in Seoul also lived in Seogwipo so one night he took us out for a dinner which was a huge pot of chicken and cheese and other delights where we cooked it at our table, afterwards he took us to a waterfall with his guitar and sung some worship songs which was a really magical experience as all the stars were out and the harbour lights were twinkling in the background.

We were quite sad to leave Jeju and on our last night we met up with Harris again in a cute little cafe where they had the best chocolate fondue and jasmine tea - it seemed to be a hangout for English teachers so we met a few more westerners! Apart from the meal out with Harris we didn't eat too much local food - there were a few dog and horse restaurants which we definately didn't fancy!

While we were in Jeju we decided to cut short the Korean leg of our journey and go to the Philippines 2 weeks earlier as we just didn't have much desire to see much more of Korea - no one seemed to recommend anywhere to see apart from Jeju and Seoul. So we flew back to Seoul and Edward and Lambyaa kindly let us stay with them for our last few days. Two nights before we left Edward took us out to Itawon area where we met some of his work colleagues and a british bulldog called duboo - we had the BBQ meal and beer and soju, which they kept filling up our glasses with, we probably had a lot more than we should have and ended up going to a nori-bang (can't spell it!) which is a Karaoke room where more beers were supplied - luckily Duboo had gone home by now otherwise we would have scared him with the 'singing'! It was a really good night and we screeched our lungs out until 3:30am - when we got back to Edwards, him and Kam played fifa until 6am!

So Korea was completely different than we thought, we are not sure if we would have gone if we had known but you have to go places to find out about them............ next stop Philippines!
