We are on our way to the hills out of Lucerne to a local farm which is a typical farm in Switzerland the farmer has now retired before his 65 birthday, his name is Hans (he has given his son the farm) which left him with little income and so he decided as he had some horses he would diversify by using these horses to set up this carriage ride as a extra income as he is not eligible for a pension. We are going onto Mt Pilatus which is a mountain approximately 7000 ft above sea level and Eduard Locher an engineer put forward the idea of building a railway up to Mt Pilatus in the 19 century. The 4618m long stretch of railway was was opened in1889 and the steam operation was opened in 1937. We arrived in Lucerne in the afternoon and we went on a tour of the lake and now we are having tea at a restaurant called La Cucina, this is one of the dine around like Killarney in Ireland. Tonight we are paying for our own and tomorrow night we will dine on Insight.
