The itinerary for the day is in the hotel lobby every day, this morning we all went to the Eiffel tower up to the second floor by lift as part of our insight tour, then off by metro to the Lourve.
We could see Paris from the 2nd floor of the Eiffel tower.
The Eiffel Tower's nickname is the "Iron Lady" this tower was designed by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 World Exposition.
The tower is a technical wonder 324 metres high & it weighs 10,000 tonnes.
The tower over the years has been painted many times but it was decided for the year 2000 it would be sanded back and repainted from the iron works.
For the celebrations for the millinum it was decided that lights should cover the tower and removed after the celebrations, but it was so well received by the people of Paris that the lights have remained.
Another attraction along the Seine is at 10 o'clock for 5 minutes the tower lights up and flickers it is a specular a sight truly beautiful.
The Louvre was the former palace of the French kings. This has now been made into a museum and this is where the famous Mona Lisa is located, it is behind an air conditioned glass case as someone tried to damage the painting a few years ago.
The river Seine is a very busy river, not as busy as the Grand canal in Venice buy busy never the less especially with the light tours at night.
