After our disapointing trip to koh phi phi we were once again back on the road and in search of the sun, this time our bus and boat trip was across the land and on to the island of koh samui. We were finally rewarded with want we had been waiting for, for a long time. Hot weather, sun and a beach. We didnt do much on this island apart from chill out for a week on chewang beach. It was just like being on holiday in the med, loadz of tourists, the beach and the sea. The food was amazing and at night the sun beds were turned in to little tables that you ate around each night on the beach front next to the sea. However you did get harassed by the local kids wanting you to play them at connect 4, and the adults trying to sell you fireworks, photos with monkeys, ballons, beeds etc etc....One night a k*** head in the restaurant just next to us thought it would be funny to hold a firework in his hand, i cant really explain wot happen next coz all i know is a opened my eyes to find myself 15 yards away from our table led on the ground covered in sand. As i realised what had gone on i walked back to the table to find hayley wetting her self at my reaction. The firework had left the blokes hand and come striaght into our restaurant, thinking it was coming straight for me i had left my seat, ran 10 yards and then hit the deck, all in the space of about 1/2 a second. I no it sounds very dangerous and it could have been alot worse but the thing was we weren't even that close to it when it went off, it was the fact i had left my seat and dived out the way that was so funny. hope you can picture it.

We also went to a thai boxing night, the first fight was not what we were expecting as 2 7 year old lads came out, no padding, 5 x 2 minute rounds, beating the crap out of each other, it was hardcore something that would never happen in england. Each fight the lads got older untill the feature fight of the night. This was a big disappointment, very boring not much action. Most people lefft after this fight but we stayed till the end the last fight was the best all night, again to very small lads came out, they must have only been 10 or so. They were fighting same length rounds as the feature fight 5x 3 minutes. One lad had a look of pure evil in his eyes as he beat the s**t out of the other, the ref stopped the fight after 3 rounds rewarding a KO to the evil lad. It was sick but funny at the same time.

we are now off to koh tao to spend another week on an island.
