Right, today we fancied something a bit more tranquil so decided to go to the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Blooming miles away but found out that a bus goes around that area so hopped straight on! Turns out it didn't go near there after all but the walk wasn't all bad. We saw the uni and found a little cheap curry house so that put a smile back on Carly's face! Finally reached the Gardens and the first thing Carly does is stick her big flip flop in an ants nest, with them crawling all over her feet. And, as usual in any time of anxiety, I get the fallout so what does she do? Rubs her feet all over me before I realise what's going on. Thanks!
Anyway we got in and it was really good. Singapore is basically an island covered in rainforests so it was really interesting to walk through it. There was also a big pond that was full of terrapins, fish and ducks. Then while we were walking past we saw this big dragon lizard thing in the water which was pretty kool (it was trying to get the duck's babies, ahh! Don't worry, Carly wasn't gunna let it happen).
In the evening, we got a coach from near our hostel to the Night Safari which was about half an hour away. It's sorta a zoo in the middle of the rainforest which is really kool. We watched an animal show when we first got there, bit cheesy but good! After that, got on the tram that takes you through the rainforest to see all the wildlife (saw lions, tigers, hyeenas, elephants, giraffes, zebra, hippos, wolves and loads of other really interesting animals). Got off the tram at one of the stops and did a walking trail where you can just wander around on your own, was wicked!
Left there at 11.30, shattered, and got the coach back!
