So after HCMC Philipp and I went to Mui Ne. Mui Ne is a village at the ocean famous for the kitesurf scenery. A lot of wind, good waves and way too many Russians. We arrive after a bus ride of about five hours and walk with our bags along the road. It is literally impossible to get lost in Mui Ne since it only consists out of one street. After a small walk we find a hostel for a record price of 3,3 dollars a night. After having some lunch at the hostel we decide to find our way to the beach. This turns out to be quite a task since it was not allowed to pass through the more expensive resorts to get to the beach. We chilled at the beach for about an hour and on our way back rented some motorbikes for the next two days. On the first day we rode out to find the biggest Buddha statue in Asia. Turned out that this was quite a challenge since there were no signs pointing us in the right direction and the English of the Vietnamese people we came across was horrible. It took us about 1,5 hour to get there and we decided to hike up the mountain. This lasted longer than we expected, as well haha, and we were quite exhausted after the 1,5 hour long hike that was quite steep at some points. The Buddha was all worth it though. We had an amazing view over the landscape and the Buddha was shining in the sun between the bright green and blue colors from nature and the sky. We went back with the cable car ride and on our way back we tried to find a 22 meter long fish skeleton. We didn't find it because of the lack of a good map and not being able to communicate well with the locals. Buddha is quite easy to explain with body language but we couldn't get the fish skeleton through even though we used a translation app on our phones. We ended up playing football for 3 hours with local kids and fathers when we came across a football field on the way back. On our second day with the motor we went to a so called "little Grand Canyon" (Fairy Stream), fishers village and sand dunes. The fairy stream was really cool since we walked up the river through the almost empty river up to the end with a small waterfall. On the left side of the stream were some sand dunes and on the right side were parts of a forest. When we left the stream we went to the fishers village where we had a nice view over the harbor with a lot of boats laying for anker. We cruised relaxed through the country side to come to the sand dunes. They were not that different from the ones we have in Holland, except that they don't have any plants on them and a lot bigger. We took the earliest bus we could find to go to Dalat the day after. Dalat was kind of a disappointment. When we arrived in the afternoon we walked around town and already did the sights that were there to be seen. The one that was most standing out was the Crazy House. This a hotel that is designed by an architect to get people get closer to nature. Couldn't really see how this helped, but at least she tried. The hotel is a bit like a maze and the building has strange shapes. Some parts looked as if a vulcano erupted next to it, there was a huge fake spider web hanging in the garden and the rooms were named after animals, having a big statue of it in the room. It was kind of nice to see anyway. The next day we woke up at 09:00 and had a nice breakfast that was included. We walked towards a small waterfall just to stretch the legs and on the way back to the hotel we bought some speakers for Philipps laptop. We spent the rest of the day watching movies and series in bed. Our next stop would be Nha Trang, and we were picked up the morning after at 07:15. The bus ride to Nha Trang was just fine, time flew by while watching The Walking Dead episodes. It took us about 5 hours to get to the town and another half an hour to reach our hotel. It was a decent hotel, not far from the beach and that is where we spent our afternoon relaxing. We walked a bit on the boulevard with no destination in mind. On our second day we would go to Vinpearl Land. This is an attraction park on an island near the bay. It was recommended by Martijn de Rijk, a former class mate from secondary school, so we decided to try it out. We were not disappointed. We had so much fun that day. The park has a waterpark with slides, a regular attraction park including an alpine coaster (rodelbaan) and a free arcade hall. We spent most of our time in the arcade hall, shooting up bad guys, playing basketball and driving like mad men along the coastline of awesome islands. The waterpark was nice as well although some slides hurt on our backs because we were going too fast. Probably built for Asian body types haha. On our last day in Nha Trang, we visited some temples and pagodas and prepared ourselves for the overnight bus drive to Hoi An. We were informed that we would be picked up at 18:00 and arrive at 12:00... Ps I will upload some empty blogs for the route on the map next to the blogs :)
