So Daan and I left Kampot to go to Ream. We arrived at the guesthouse in the afternoon and were welcomed by the Italian owner Marco. The guesthouse was connected to the beach and from the balcony we could see the jetty and the boat of the owner. We decided to eat his notirious pasta, based on the tripadvisor comments. It was very good but also quite expensive. 8$ for a dish that doesn't fill you up is not worth the money haha.
We met Bea and Elsa at the guesthouse. These are two girls from France and we hung out with them during the next few days. On the first day we went island hopping with the boat of Marco. We snorkled at two different beaches and enjoyed the weather. There were almost no other tourists at the beaches so that was pretty awesome. On the second day we went hiking in the nearby national park. We walked for 3,5 hours to a view point and back again. The trail itself was not spectacular but the view was pretty nice.
For the rest of the time, we just chilled at the guesthouse. There was a pool table available so we spent quite a few hours playing pool. The beach was a nice place to chill out ofcourse and we didn't do much else since we were basically waiting for my Vietnam visa to become valid. On the 11th of January we took a sleeper bus to Ho Chi Minh City, the biggest city in Vietnam. From private beaches to a city with 10 million people, Vietnam here we come!
