We have now left behind our luxury hotel and moved to the other side of the island to the capital of Zanzibar, Stone Town which is a world heritage site. We are continually getting lost because of the crazy winding streets. With some of them you can touch both walls with your out stretched hands and sometimes feels a bit claustrophobic because of the constant barrage of locals trying to sell you everything under the sun. Arrived in Zanzibar after an slightly hectic flight via Nairobi and Mobassa, tired, dazed and slightly confused and 3 visa stamps in about 24 hours. A very bumpy drive through the jungle brought us to our hotel only to find it was closed, fortunately for us we were upgrated to the 5* hotel next door! A truely luxurious start to our trip. We'll be coming back to earth with a bump tomorrow when we leave the hotel and head for the budget accommodation in Stone Town...

The countdown has begun, 6 days left at work, 14 days left in the UK. Volcanic ash cloud clearing, fingers crossed we'll make it to Kenya on the 7th!
