Now in country number 6 and it's already starting to feel as though we've left the Africa we had become accustomed to. Windhoek is a small but modern capital city and its so clean! There is a real German influence and that along with the Afrikaans appears to mean good food and plenty of it. James has already had 'the best apple strudel ever' (apart from the one we had at the wedding of course!).
I think James is going to love Namibia as the consumption of biltong has begun earlier than expected. I think he is on a mission to consume his body weight of the stuff. I don't see it happening. Last night we had a stunning meal and all you carnivores out there will be immensely jealous. A little trip to Joe's Beerhouse included drinking a meter of beer, not all to ourselves, and eating Gemsbok, Kudu, Ostrich, Crocodile and Oryx.
The landscapes passing through the country are impressive, so dry and desolate. We're heading down to the West coast tomorrow to the town of Swakopmund in the hope of seeing the desert and the dunes.
